We live in a society filled with different distractions and temptations. Which makes us loose focus
hereby affecting our consistency in the Christian faith.

As a teenager, your desire to be accepted anywhere anytime is almost inevitable because you are at the stage of your life where your emotions are triggered to public acceptance.

No wonder, some teenagers act without thinking just because they want to “feel among”. Some young adults live double lives because they want to be accepted anywhere.

The search for identity in the society must be done wisely, else you lose your focus as a
Christian.

Honestly, most of the vices encouraged by society, through which some people make
money and become famous, are not as easy as they make it look.

A lot of them pass through horrifying experiences they won’t share with the public. Money, drugs, and sex are major elements that make one feel successful in society today. Yet, you want to remain a true believer, but the distractions and temptations are high.

Today, sin has become a norm, so don’t expect society to accept you with open arms, that’s
because you view things differently from the world. Thus, you build very few relationships.

“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.” John 15:18-19 NLT.

As a teenager, you need to groom your emotions wisely to prevent low self-esteem, bitterness, anger, envy, greed, and so on.

Remember, the scriptures never told us that our joy is restricted to earthly things, but from Yahweh through the Holy Spirit. Yahushua, John the Baptist, and the apostles weren’t accepted by the society, thus they faced lots of persecutions.

Friend, expect to face persecutions too.

Yes, you are young, but understand that it’s part of the Christian journey. 1Cor 10:13.

You are saved to please Yahweh, not humans. The more you try to please the society, the more frustrated you became because you can’t please anyone.

Remember your peace and happiness lay in your hands.

Unfortunately, some parents, siblings, elders are not good examples to the younger generation yet
they demand respect from them hereby affecting their understanding of godliness.

For example, a parent who encourages the child to lie to others just to cover up for their mistakes, shouldn’t except the truth from the child always.

Other parents are teachers of the scriptures, but they act opposite to what they teach at home, hereby confusing the child if indeed living in godliness is right.

But remember, for every wrong action, you will face the consequences alone.

So the question you should ask yourself is, is it worth it?

Below are tenets to help you to be a consistent Christan as a young adult;

1. Love Yahweh unconditionally: 1 Jh 5:3, Jh 14:15.
2. Love yourself: 1 Jh 4:7.
3. Be content and joyful always: Phi 4:4
4. Let your light shine. Matt 5:15-16, 1 Thes5:8.
5. Watch and pray always: Matt 26:41
6. Be strong and exercise self-control: 1 Pet1:13, Eph 6:10-11.
7. Keep good company always:1 Cor15:33.

Always remember, what is wrong is wrong. You know what is right, embrace it. You know what is wrong, refrain from it. Not all that glitters is gold, beware of covetousness.

Prayer Point: Holy Spirit, strengthen me to overcome temptations and distractions daily, in Yahushua’s name, Amen!

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then, you won’t yield to what your sinful
nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants.

And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two
forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.
Galatians 5:16-17 NLT.
